Mbappé Equals Cristiano Ronaldo’s Record at Real Madrid

French star Kylian Mbappé has equaled the goal record of Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo in their respective first seasons at Real Madrid, after scoring two goals against Leganés.
The French forward netted the opening goal in the 32nd minute and added a third in the 75th minute for Real Madrid in their La Liga match against Leganés in the 29th round of the competition.
With these two goals, Mbappé has now reached a total of 33 goal contributions (goals and assists) in all competitions during his first season with Los Blancos. He achieved this milestone in 45 matches, whereas Ronaldo had managed the same figure in his first season with Real Madrid but in just 35 games.
Real Madrid increased their tally to 63 points, strengthening their hold on second place, only trailing arch-rivals Barcelona on goal difference. Meanwhile, Leganés remained at 27 points, sitting in 18th place in the league standings.
