
The Baghdad Operations Command announced today, Friday, the arrest of several wanted individuals, including an arms dealer and others involved in armed disputes, as well as the seizure of weapons and ammunition on both the Karkh and Rusafa sides of the capital.
The command stated that “as part of the ongoing security operations carried out by our forces to pursue outlaws, organized crime gangs, and criminals, and to execute judicial arrest warrants, units from the 1st and 5th Federal Police Divisions, along with our Commando Brigade and supported by intelligence agencies, managed to arrest several wanted individuals under different legal articles. Among them was an arms dealer found in possession of (39) hand grenades, as well as others involved in armed altercations.”
It further indicated that “a number of unlicensed weapons and ammunition were seized in several areas, including Al-Zaafaraniya, Al-Amin, White Gold Village, Al-Rashidiya, and Al-Husseiniya, on both sides of Karkh and Rusafa.”
Additionally, it stated that “the detainees and seized items have been handed over to the relevant authorities to complete the legal procedures against them.”
